Forget Windows: Midori is coming

WINDOWS is a name that has ruled the whole computer world since its first launch in November 1985. Since then it is like a trademark of Microsoft Corporation.

With many advanced versions of Windows available today such as Windows XP, Windows Vista, it is the most used operating system in the world.


Yes, MICROSOFT is working on a new generation of operating systems called Cloud-Based Operating System and rumors are there that MIDORI will be their first such operating system, which will replace Windows fully from computer map.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE

MIDORI is an offshoot of Microsoft Research's Singularity operating system.

 In this the tools and libraries are completely managed code.

MIDORI is designed to run directly on native hardware (x86, x64 and ARM), will be hosted on the Windows Hyper-V hypervisor, or even be hosted by a Windows process.

MIDORI can be also seen as MICROSOFT'S answer those competitors who are applying "Virtualization" as a mean to solving issues within contemporary computing.

The main idea behind MIDORI is to develop a lightweight portable OS which can be mated easily to lots of various applications.

IMPORTANCE OF MIDORI

For knowing the importance of MIDORI you have to think about, how an operating system is loaded on a computer.

Actually operating system is loaded onto a hard disk physically located on that machine. In this way, the operating system is tied very tightly to that hardware.

As Windows is dependent on hardware, it might face opposition from contemporary ways of working because people are extremely mobile in using different devices in order get diverse information.

Due to this trend installing different applications on a single computer may led to different compatibility issues whenever the machine require updating.

The new operating system will solve these problems by the concept of Virtualizing.

This will solve problems such as widespread security vulnerabilities, unexpected interactions among different applications, failures caused by errant extensions, plug-ins, and drivers and many more.

A new way of Politics - Like MUDHALVAN Film

A journlist and popular television anchor A William Rabi Bernard is the AIADMK candidate for the July 22 byelections to fill up the lone vacant Rajya Sabha seat from Tamil Nadu.

The vacancy was created when state public works minister K V Ramalingam resigned as Rajya Sabha member after his election to the state assembly.

 Bernard's candidature was decided at a meeting of the newly-constituted meeting of party administrative committee held at chief minister Jayalalithaa's Poes Garden residence.

A well-known journalist and AIADMK loyalist, Bernard had worked with various TV channels before he joined Jaya TV for which he has anchored several programmes.

In fact,many senior party leaders were in the race for the Rajya Sabha seat, Bernard proved lucky. Bernard worked with a newspaper before turning a lecturer in a city college and later moved to the visual media.

 He earlier worked as an anchor for Sun TV and his program 'Nerukku Ner' gained him popularity.

After resigning from Sun TV, Bernard went on to launch Nila TV, a Tamil channel. He later joined Jaya TV and also switched political loyalties. Party sources said Bernard is likely to file his nominations on July 8.

LOK-PAL

The word Lokpal has been derived from the Sanskrit words "loka" (people) and "pala" (protector/caretaker). So the word Lokpal means 'protector of people'. The concept of Lokpal has been drawn up to root out corruption at all levels in the prevailing Indian polity.

After 42 years, the Jan Lokpal Bill is still pending in India. The first Lokpal Bill was introduced by Shanti Bhushan and passed in the 4th Lok Sabha in 1969 but could not get through in the Rajya Sabha, subsequently, Lokpal bills were introduced in 1971, 1977, 1985, 1989, 1996, 1998, 2001, 2005 and in 2008, yet they were never passed and it is pending.

The Lokpal Bill provides for filing complaints of corruption against the prime minister, other ministers, and MPs with the ombudsman.However, while it was pending in the Rajya Sabha, the Lok Sabha was dissolved so the bill was not passed at that time. The bill was revived in 1971, 1977, 1985, 1989, 1996, 1998, 2001, 2005 too.

First ever robot that corrects its mistakes

The world’s first ever robot with ‘muscles’, ‘tendons’ and ‘bones’ is here. Dailymail reports that the robot looks like a stripped-down version of the Star Wars character C-3PO.

One of the most advanced robots in the world, Ecci, is made up of a specially developed plastic. The robot even has a brain that enables correction of mistakes.

A team of scientists at the University of Zurich developed Ecci – short for Eccerobot. ‘Ecce’ means Lo or Behold in Latin. A series of electric motors helps the robot to move its joints. A computer installed inside the brain of Ecci helps it learn from its mistakes.

Facebook has 750 million members

Last summer, Facebook announced that it had achieved 500 million users and counting. Now that figure is completely outdated.

Though Facebook hasn't released an official statement yet, TechCrunch is reporting that Facebook retains approximately 750 million regular users who log in to the social-networking site at least once per month.

That number, which is larger than the population levels of at least a few countries on the planet, isn't all that surprising. The rate at which 250 million more people joined is the staggering aspect.

That's very roughly the addition of 100 million users per year the site has existed, but that's not an accurate representation of how many people joined Facebook when. Obviously there were far more people joining in 2010 than in 2004 or even 2005.
